CINI/UoN ITEM Laboratory "Carlo Savy" of the CINI Consortium and the University of Naples (Italy) Coordinator
Department Person in charge Prof. Domenico Cotroneo This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it The Department of Computer and System Engineering of the University of Naples has multi-annual (8 years) experience in dependability analysis of software systems, and particularly on fault identification and localization (diagnosis). However it needs to create synergies with CRITICAL STEP partners on several practical, scientific and technological issues to further research in this field, to target industrial challenges and integrate knowledge from other research work. More specifically CINI wishes to gain further knowledge about the challenges of client driven software system engineering and operation to increase the industrial relevance of their research programs. It needs to apply the new knowledge in real-world case studies that will be provided by SESM and CSW. Though the CINI/UoN has many industrial contacts, SESM and CSW are important partners to validate the latest research on safety critical software systems and turn fundamental knowledge into real innovation. Moreover CINI lacks expertise on fault injection and characterization techniques (which are available at FCTUC) and that will be needed to improve (on-line) fault diagnosis and reconfiguration (knowledge from SESM).
